Drama, excitement, disappointment, and
every lap a thriller – the 2017 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour delivered, big
time.
The winning Ferrari fought all the way to
the finish, but in the end it was well clear of the second placed Porsche, and
Bentley M-Sport grabbed third place on the podium with a solid performance
throughout the day.
This race has now established itself as one
of the great global annual motorsport events; and this year’s race guarantees
the top teams will be back next year to entertain us.
The results sheet will simply not tell the
whole story of how the day unfolded.
The Ferrari got pole position, fastest lap
of the race, led the most laps and won by a big margin.
But you had to be
along for the ride to watch joy turn to sorrow in seconds, and major dramas
which overall delivered 12 hours of truly entertaining motor racing.
